Get Pleasure from a Scenic View at Charlies Cafe and Beach Hire

In Rarotonga there is a new tourism attraction that gives visitors great food, a workout, and a lesson in lagoon environments and conservation. Taking shape in the Cook Islands over the past few months, Charlie’s Beach Café and Grill offers great water sports activities that include Paddle board and Kayak Hire. These water sports activities are slowly getting ready to kick it into high gear.

Charlie started running the business in a blue container at Akapuao Beach in Titikaveka earlier this year, offering single and tandem kayaks, standup paddle boards, and snorkel equipment for hire. Since then, Charlie’s added a large deck overlooking the lagoon, and slowly expanding the café, which currently offers toasties, panini, smoothies, and coffee.

“This part of the lagoon is untouched for this kind of business,” Charlie Hosking Jr. said. “Fruits of Raro down the beach are a big landmark, but this part is a bit of a marine reserve.”

As part of Charlie’s Beach Café and Grill commitment to the surrounding lagoon environment, they recently placed some giant clams just off the beach in the lagoon, which were donated by the team behind Koka Lagoon Cruises as part of Koka’s Marine Conservation Programme.
